![]() While RF3 and RF4 don't put a strong emphasis on children (RF3 children honestly irritate me more than anything in the god damn game, but RF4's kid I really enjoy. RF2 has some high points, but some really really low lows. The story elaborates a bit more on Earthmates and their abilities, not by much, but they do. This also includes possibly marrying your cousins/aunt depending on who you married in gen 1 and who you're playing as. I don't care for the fact that every single one of the recipes are 6 items when you have limited storage space, but y'know.Īlso child romances. ![]() The methods to learning crafting are a neat concept through going to school and the recipes when you're actually forging look to be your class notes, that's neat. There are concepts to the second arc I like. Any way you slice it, that was a bad design call when gen 1 is so barebones. This really sucked for someone who got married early on and then suddenly went from having not much to do to absolutely NOTHING to do. I'd understand this for the bachelorettes and quests surrounding them, but it does it to everyone. The point is mostly to get married, but they don't tell you how once you get married your wife is cooped up in the house all day and can't attend any of the romantic festivals and all of the bulletin board requests are deleted. Personally the first act in my opinion just seemed like an extended tutorial and overall was really pointless. I'd really love to see this sort of more-than-one-generation plot used again for a later title!Įdit oops realised I had been calling Kyle raguna this whole time might as well as not had them seeing as all they do is sit in your house and repeat the same dialogue.Īnd the story being extended over 2 generations just makes everything seem more in depth and interesting, atleast to me. they all also had their own children and the second gen characters actually had a personality and a role in the story! rune factory 3+4 were great but what did having kids add to the plot or characters? nothing really. plus it brought characters to life a bit more (such as seeing mana fulfill her dream of building a school). getting to play as kyle first and have the game be pretty light and fun, then getting to play as his kids and uncover all of these new places and mysteries that you couldn't when you played as kyle was so good! I really enjoyed that aspect. I enjoyed rune factory 2 the most, as far as plot goes. ![]()
